Drawing lies at the core of my creative process, and was my primary medium for much of my early career. These drawings were completed not long after I moved my studio to central New York, a period during which I was establishing a connection to the countryside around me. My purpose in these works was to approach the blank page with a sense of play and discovery, and through the process of gesture and erasure, allow new and unexpected forms to emerge that could become the basis for further evolving forms – developing a kind of vocabulary of possibility.
