The "Cascade Series", a group of five, large-scale digital prints on polyester, pays homage to Charles Darwin and Stephen J. Gould, two giants of evolutionary theory. Through superimposition and juxtaposition the works explore the complex interrelationships of organisms, their interdependence and co-evolution. Interwoven through the images are texts and data on genetic research and environmental change, as well as drawings and notes by Darwin and Gould. The series questions suppositions about the permanence of species and environment by describing life as a fragile process subject to radical change or destruction.
