Marcy Edelstein (b.1950, Boston, MA) received a BA in Fine Arts from Brandeis University and MA/MFA degrees from University of Iowa School of Art and Art History. For more than four decades, she has explored the complex relationship between nature and culture through drawing, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, and digital art, employing a visual language that is fundamentally abstract but deeply tied to the natural world.
Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the United States. Public collections include the Brooklyn Museum, the Library of Congress, the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, University of North Carolina and Texas A&M University. Publications include reviews in ART NEWS and WOMEN ARTISTS NEWS, as well as exhibition catalogues from the Museum of Modern Art and the Roswell Museum and Art Center. Residencies include the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program and the Cummington Community for the Arts. Marcy currently lives and works in central NY and Brooklyn, NY.
